    Trump Vows U.S. Leadership in Cryptocurrency Industry

    The United States must lead the cryptocurrency industry, asserted former U.S. President Donald Trump.

    “Our country must be the leader in the field, there is no second place,” Trump declared in a May 25 post on Truth Social, a platform owned by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG).

    Expressing strong support for the burgeoning crypto industry, Trump stated, “I am very positive and open-minded to cryptocurrency companies, and all things related to this new and burgeoning industry.”

    He contrasted his stance with that of President Joe Biden, his opponent in the 2024 presidential race.

    Trump made these comments ahead of his scheduled speech at the Libertarian Party’s National Convention in Washington on the same day.

    His pro-crypto stance has raised industry expectations about his potential election victory. According to Polymarket, a New York-based crypto prediction platform, Trump has a 56% chance of winning the election, compared to Biden’s 38%.

    This follows Trump’s announcement that his 2024 presidential campaign would accept cryptocurrency donations.

    On May 21, the Trump campaign launched a fundraising page allowing eligible donors to contribute in crypto via Coinbase Commerce.

    In addition to his public support, Trump has reportedly engaged with crypto enthusiasts.

    XGA reported that buyers of Trump’s “Mugshot” non-fungible tokens (NFTs) dined with him on May 8 at his Mar-a-Lago residence, part of the agreement for purchasing the digital trading cards featuring his mug shot from his surrender at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia.
