Solana Mobile Set to Launch Second Crypto-Ready Smartphone Amid Surging Demand
Solana Mobile, riding the success of its first crypto-ready smartphone, Saga, is gearing up to unveil a second device with similar features but at a more affordable price, according to insider sources.
The move comes as the red-hot secondary market for the original Saga smartphones sees prices soaring to five times their initial value.
The upcoming Solana Mobile phone, designed to meet the growing demand, will retain the onboard crypto wallet, custom Android software, and a “dApp store” for crypto applications.
The original Saga, initially priced at $1000, witnessed a reduction in prices after struggling with sales.
With the new release, Solana Mobile aims to address the fervent demand in the secondary market for the limited supply of existing Saga smartphones, currently fetching bids as high as $3,200 on eBay.
The unexpected success of the original Saga unfolded when traders discovered it included an allocation of BONK tokens that surpassed the device’s price, leading to a rapid sell-out within a week.
