One of the social media giants, Twitter, is reportedly working on a “wallet prototype” that will make depositing and withdrawing cryptocurrencies possible on the platform.
The ‘little secret’ which has yet to be confirmed by Twitter, was divulged by Jane Manchun Wong, an influential blogger and 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 finalist.
Previously, Wong has had successes with uncovering now-launched features on apps such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter through her intensive digital detective work.
Regardless, the news has yet to be confirmed by Twitter itself, and it remains unclear where Wong obtained the information.
Not long ago, Twitter also introduced various other cryptocurrency-related features that include tipping content creators with Bitcoins in September 2021 and integrating web3 dApps to the platform in November of the same year.
In early 2022, it began allowing platform users to display their non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as profile pictures, which was then followed by extending its cryptocurrency-tipping availability for Ethereum users.
The latest, and rumoured addition of cryptocurrency wallets will potentially turn Twitter into a completely developing web3 platform.
