Mercedes-Benz Enters the NFT World with “Maschine”
Mercedes-Benz has introduced Mercedes-Benz NXT as a “long-term commitment to building a dedicated presence within the Web3 community”.
The new team aims to bring the collectability of Mercedes-Benz vehicles and memorabilia to the digital realm, encompassing all the company’s brands and product portfolio.
The collection, called “Maschine”, is co-created by generative artist Harm van den Dorpel and art collectors Fingerprints DAO.
Mercedes-Benz Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener worked closely with van den Dorpel to shape the concept and coordinate creative directions.

Featuring 1,000 unique Ethereum-based tokens, the collection explores themes of velocity and perception, with artwork resembling a wheel in motion.
The sale is set to commence as a Dutch auction on June 7, at 18:00 CET, exclusively through Fingerprints DAO’s website.
However, due to regulatory and taxation requirements, only collectors from the 26 EU countries, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, UK, and US will be able to participate in it.
In December 2022, Mercedes-Benz Group AG filed for five metaverse and NFT-related trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The applications for “Mercedes Benz, Mercedes, S-Class, G-Class, and Maybach” aim to establish trademark protection for future NFT collections, marketplaces, virtual vehicle parts, and cryptocurrency trading.
