It was in late March this year when one of the world’s most renowned technology brands, Samsung announced that it will be releasing a new line of Smart TVs that integrates non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Soon, the brand’s fellow competitor, LG Electronics (LG), is set to join the force as it has decidedly stepped up its game through the innovation of their brand new LG TV that will allow users to “buy, sell and enjoy high-quality digital artwork”, simply from the comfort of their own home.
Wondering how you can benefit from LG’s new Smart TVs as part of the art and NFT community? Here’s how!
Your art becomes more viewable to the public on a broader scale
On September 3, 2022, LG announced that it will be launching LG Art Lab, a new NFT marketplace which will host a highly curated selection of world-class artists, including the phenomenal sculptor, Barry X Ball, whose collections will arrive at the platform this 22nd September.
The platform uses the Hedera Network and aims to highlight the LG Art Lab’s premier artists that will continuously be added into the marketplace on a monthly basis.
Also worth mentioning, the platform includes LG Art Drops which lets people track new NFTs in the market as well as the artists’ profiles to be previewed by the consumers.
In addition, any LG NFTs that are bought by the users will be viewable on their TV screen whenever they would like it to be! In simpler words, people could view their bought NFTs and show it off to their guests whenever the TV is not in use.
Easy purchase for the users!
The new LG platform is based on the Hedera network, the most used, and sustainable enterprise-grade public ledger for the decentralised economy.
This in return, allows a simple and easy buy and sell as consumers will only need to scan the QR codes on the screens before they would be able to complete the transactions via Wallypto, LG’s crypto-currency wallet for smartphones.
Consumers can also easily purchase their desired NFTs from the LG Art Lab which is available on the brand new Smart TVs.
Once purchased, the NFT can be traded on LG Art Lab marketplace where they can view transaction history other than checking it on the My Collection tab to admire all of their owned artworks.
High quality display on museums and art galleries
As more artists work their way into the VR, AR and NFTs industries, it is vital to understand that the quality and innovations needed in physical hardware to display digital work is something that shall be taken even more seriously.
As for the LG’s Smart TVs, it displays a cinematic, 16:9 aspect ratio screen which in return, allows the NFTs to come fully to life, what’s more with the brand’s OLED TVs, leverages self-lit pixels to deliver infinite contrast, inky blacks and exceptional colour accuracy.
However, for the time being, it is reported that only users in the US with an LG TV that runs WebOS 5.0 or later can access the app, which is available to be downloaded from the TV home screen.
Also, given the fact that LG Art Lab is still in the midst of growing its base, it could easily be understood that it still has a long way to go before it could become an ultimate one-stop solution for viewing and trading NFTs among the said community.
