Meta has recently announced that it will roll out several new creator updates on Facebook and Instagram.
The company most prominently disclosed that Instagram creators would soon have the ability to produce their own NFTs and sell them directly to followers both on and off Instagram.
Creators will now have access to a toolkit that will allow them to produce, showcase, and sell NFTs. And the first partner that Meta has selected for this functionality is Polygon.
For the time being, the new tools are only accessible to a “small group” of creators from the United States, but Meta says it aims to expand to more people and nations “soon.”
However, the company is updating other NFT features that will be more widely available. As for collectors, Meta is enabling video NFTs on Instagram profiles and adding compatibility for the Solana blockchain and Phantom wallet.
The app is also adding OpenSea metadata for “select collections.”
