Hear It First: Malaysian Blockchain Community Unveils Ambitious Plans During MDEC Blockchain Industry Table
Yesterday, at the MDEC HQ in Cyberjaya, the Malaysian blockchain community convened for the MDEC Blockchain Industry Table, an event aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation in the blockchain industry.

Malaysia Blockchain Week Announced
During the event, Dr. Ian Tan, Management and Operation Leads for the Malaysia Blockchain Week, shared exciting news about the upcoming Malaysia Blockchain Week, scheduled from July 29 to August 1, 2024.
“We want to start looking and placing Malaysia on the map digitally just like how MDEC is,” Dr. Tan explained.
“MDEC is going to be our strategic partner. There’s going to be a lot of things that we’re going to announce in the upcoming weeks, particularly on our social media.”
He outlined plans for the event, including partnerships with educational institutions and international schools, aiming to attract 2,000 visitors and feature 16 speakers.
The event will be held at the World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur and will cater not only to Web3 enthusiasts but also to the general public.

Ethereum Kuala Lumpur Unveils Ambitious Plans for October Event
Additionally, Ethereum Kuala Lumpur teased a major event planned for October 4 to 6, 2024. Danny, the lead organizer, hinted at the participation of prominent L2 companies, stating, “I just came back from Taipei and I’ve been basically talking to a lot of stakeholders who are the L2 companies.
“We’re going to have some really large L2 companies coming to Malaysia. I really hope for you guys to be there for the event.”
He also emphasized the importance of interaction with industry stakeholders to showcase Malaysia’s potential as a hub for blockchain innovation.
“So I’d really like you guys to interact as much as possible with all these people coming to Malaysia and remind them why Malaysia is truly Asia.
“So the next time when they think of Asia or if they’re on a fence on where to base their HQ in Asia, they think of Malaysia, and not any other countries.”

Masverse Advances Blockchain Innovation Beyond Cryptocurrency
Also participating in the roundtable discussion was Masverse, a Malaysian start-up that offers complete blockchain and Web 3.0 infrastructure solutions to different industries and sectors.
During the discussion, Masverse provided updates on its progress, including ongoing testnet operations and plans to launch the mainnet on April 23.

Moreover, the company expressed a strong commitment to exploring innovative solutions in the blockchain space beyond cryptocurrency applications.
This vision was further emphasized by Masverse’s announcement made around two weeks prior, offering grants totaling up to RM2 million.
The grants are aimed at supporting industry players in adopting blockchain solutions and enriching Malaysia’s blockchain ecosystem.
