Football Clubs Embrace NFT Trend
Football clubs have been actively exploring the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), joining the digital collectibles trend.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) took an early step in January 2022 by launching “PSG Fan Tokens”, offering exclusive content and experiences for fans such as voting on club decisions and attending matchday events.
Manchester City also introduced “Man City Fan Tokens”, providing fans with similar access to exclusive content.
In July 2022, FC Barcelona made history with the launch of their first NFT, featuring Johan Cruyff’s iconic 1973 stadium moment as he soared through the air to score against Atlético Madrid.
With more football clubs likely to follow suit, the NFT space is set to witness further growth and engagement from the sports community.
