The highly anticipated auction for Nina Chanel Abney’s “Super Punk World” collection kicks off next Wednesday, May 29th, at 11:00 AM ET.
This 500-piece collection features Abney’s signature style reimagined within the CryptoPunks universe.
The 3D sculptures challenge our perspectives on race, gender, and the merging of virtual and physical worlds.

This public Dutch auction offers an opportunity for all collectors to acquire a piece of Abney’s groundbreaking work. Winners will receive both a 2D image and a 3D model for future digital use.
While the “Super Punk World” project marks the inaugural run of the CryptoPunks’ Punk-in-Residence program, it has also garnered criticism within the community.

In a separate announcement, Yuga Labs, the current owner of CryptoPunks, has revealed their plans for the collection’s future.
They aim to preserve CryptoPunks’ legacy, focusing on museum acquisitions and educational initiatives.
Interestingly, Yuga Labs will no longer be directly involved with the development of CryptoPunks itself, allowing the collection to remain decentralized.
