Nike's .SWOOSH Takes A Bold Step Forward
With $19.82 NFT Shoes
Nike is set to launch its first-ever NFT shoe collection on its .SWOOSH marketplace platform.
The collection, dubbed “Our Force 1” (OF1), is inspired by the design of Nike’s popular Air Force 1 pair. Each virtual shoe box in the collection is expected to cost $19.82, a nod to the year that Air Force 1 was released.
The OF1 collection will be a series of Polygon virtual shoe NFTs that pay homage to the classic Nike Air Force 1 sneaker from 41 years ago.
The collection will consist of two types of boxes: Classic Remix sneaker boxes, which will have virtual kicks inspired by Air Force 1 shoes released between 1982 and 2006, and New Wave boxes, which will include pairs created in 2007 and beyond.

Nike’s .SWOOSH airdrop on Tuesday, April 18, will include a set of posters celebrating the forthcoming “Our Force 1” NFT line. The posters will ensure admission to the OF1’s First Access sale, which will take place between May 8 and May 9.

The .SWOOSH platform was launched in mid-November 2022 to serve as a home for Nike’s Web3 artists. Previously, the shoemaker has already had success in the NFT industry, earning more than $180 million in revenue and more than $90 million in royalties by August 2022.
In addition to the virtual shoe collection, Nike will also offer a limited number of unique, modified AF1s with a “nostalgic twist” scattered throughout Classic Remix boxes. Similarly, bespoke, expressive AF1s with a more “futuristic twist” will be included in New Wave boxes.
